An email to Lynchy from Anthony Gregorio, CEO of The Furnace, Sydney...
Hi Michael,
Someone directed me to the fact you had posted some stories on the blog about the tragic news of Julian and Fiona. I'm sure I speak for everyone who knew him - thank you.
Jules was one of those rare people who made you want to come into work and interact with. Because of his intelligence, his humour, because he was just...he was Jules.
A friend Phil Johnston, that worked with both us of said Julian was someone who was living life in reverse. Which was so true. Whilst most of us at his age are settled down, paying mortgages and raising kids, Jules and Fiona were on adventure. Squeezing everything they could out of every day.
On many a session, talking crap as you do, Jules often mentioned how lucky he was and how much he loved his "girls" - Jess and Fiona. The world is a poorer place without Julian and Fiona Horton. May they rest in peace.
Regards,
Anthony
Well this is sad... it's been a long month for me and I missed the news till now.
I barely knew Julian - met him a few times, worked with him once but isn't it funny how some people just hit you as, well, sweet... someone with that kind of relaxed agenda that's about being in the process and not taking it off on their own egotistical rodeo - and the more I've read about him he clearly was a good human and drinking pretty deep of Life.
So to all of you who had Julian & Fiona close to you, particularly Jess, my heart goes out to you.
And to all those who've written of them; thank you, it's been a really touching and warming view into one of the good guys, and his too-short life.
God bless them.
