Sian Binder and Jennie Morris have created a top spot for Snickers, via BBDO Dubai, that is being talked about as a Cannes contender this year.
Writer Morris has been at the agency as a group Head for the last seven months, while art director Binder stayed for a month while they both did the ad.
Morris was previously in Sydney agencies including George Patts and various freelance stints (mostly for Host). Binder is now back in Sydney, currently freelancing at JWT.
Morris told CB Blog: "The ad was shot in Saudi Arabia, all the post was done in Amsterdam and the music is by a hip hop band out of Kuwait."

I did a stint in Dubai, so I know there are even more challenges in getting good work through.

Proud of you guys

it is a pain in the rectum to sell good work through in dubai - believe me, harder than many other places.

thats why the smattering of good work coming out of there in the last couple of years has all been "proactive".

this ad is a great idea, a great production and a great coup - especially for the sandpit that is the middle east.

great job guys!

Really, really nice.

I genuinely wish it was on my reel.

Degree of difficulty? Fucking massive.

It would have been an absolute cracker to make, and who wouldn't want to shoot two little armies having a war?

Sian Binder, one of the truly underestimated art directors.

Someone give her a job.

it looks cool.

But seems to be more like a music video for the song rather than an advert for Snickers.

Get rid of the product bit at the end and it would be awesome.

top top team... lovely people... and a nice little bar too...

www.valkieser.nl takes you to some dodgy dutch politician by the way

just seen it on air for the first time... during liverpool v man united...

shame about the result but the spot certainly jumped out of the break...

I cannot condone an ad that portrays violence and ambushing. The art work is of very high quality but it is disappointing that obviously great talent is put to use in this negative manner.

SENSATIONAL. Don't know why but all of a sudden I have a craving for a Snickers.

What I'd like to know is the name of the hip hop band and the title of the song.

the song is called "Let's Roll" by Army of One (a band from Kuwait).

Tha commercial is amazing. Pure genius. For those who don't get the relationship with Snickers, well Snickers line is "Don't Stop", so basically they got rid rid of all the stop signs.

There's also the song, red light green light by Limp Bizkit, don't know if it's a remake or the actual song. But it sounds the same.
