PALACE HIRE YAHOO! THINK TANK KIDS
The Campaign Palace, Sydney has hired young creative team, Kirsty Gavin and
Rupert Taylor. Originally in publishing and media (Kirsty as art director
and designer and Rupert as editor and journalist) the duo are a product of
the Yahoo! Think Tank late last year. (Good onya Palace, hope other shops follow suit - Ed).

does the palace still exist? is it getting bigger again?
It's the palace Jim, but not as we know it.
WPP is at the helm, creativity is out the window, dollars driving the ship.
"Mark Mackay, CEO of The Palace said that after a tough few years the Palace was back on track. The Westpac win, combined with the Hutchison 3 mobile phone account it picked up late last year, brought up to $70 million in billings to the Sydney agency, Mr Mackay said."

creativity wins pitches. enough said.
that must have been his PR/spin talking, as i'm sure i saw the same comments in AdNews & B&T!
"creativity wins pitches"
Think you are assuming creativity is what those two clients are looking for in an agency 11:53
A deep discount and a willingness to bend over and take it also win pitches.
With my limited experience with WPP, it generally a case of 'look, whatever they're doing it for, we'll do it for less..'
Then they sack half the department and try to make do with the dregs.
Welcome to advertising guys.
Yeah welcome. You're about to discover the purile nitwits who inhabit adland. Except the Palace of course.
Is that kirsty in the picture? she's real hot.
HOT? she's DAMN HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Straight from the think tank to the spank bank. She's on her way.
she looks retarted.
are you kidding? whoever wrote that needs to get a clue. this is not a space for insults regarding personal appearances. and if you choose to vent your judgements here, at lease pick someone that deserves them.
kirsty is gorgeous and talented and if you knew her you would know that.
i agree. i dont know her but shes gorgeous. lets wait and see what they can do for the campaign palace before we start insulting them...
you watch this team rise to the top.....
they're going onwards and upwards!!!!
well done guys. what a great gig and look forward to seeing what you've got to give to this game.
Oh at last, a blog that is mostly positive. Apart from 9:40's unsubstanciated and shallow comment most of you seem genuinly pleased for these two.
Having said that, if they don't win gold at Canne with their first piece of work then everyone will jump on their backs and call them hacks, despite never winning anything themselves.
You can never win on the CB blog.
i've seen their work and they are definitely talented. kudos to the palace for hiring them as although i don't think they're set to win a lion in the next couple of years, they certainly show a lot of potential and with the right guidance will be a team to keep your eye on over the next 5 years..
well done guys.
it's tough for any junior teams trying to crack into an agency creative department these days, with a likely proportion of people vs. available jobs of about 1000 to 1. if you get hired, you certainly have something going for you, most of all the persistance needed to make it in this cynical industry.
5:00 PM.... yeah it's all about the awards and pics in social pages.
5:51 is a total twat! "I don't think they're set to win a lion in the next couple of years" Who the fuck are you you great wanker?
'she looks retarted'. 940am, if you are going to be abusive at least learn how to spell the word. for the record, i think shes quite cute....
6.25, you're spot on. 5.51 is a condescending old codger. What a back-handed compliment. When he says to keep an eye on them, he really means watch the bastards and make sure they don't try to show you up.
We've all met a 5.51 at some point. He's the one making it 'tough for any junior teams trying to crack into an agency creative department these days' and he'll do everything he can to keep it that way.
Dear 11:13
You're one of the many who sadly frequent this blog, who appear to lack basic literacy skills. Please note that the word 'puerile' is spelt with an 'e', and not as you would have us believe thus, purile.
