Well, I'll ask. What happened in the foyer?
Yes, can someone please enlighten us ASAP...
Here's an enlightening thought for you both: Get a life.
Wasn't there either so ditto.
What is it about the MADC every year? As far as I know there aren't bust-ups at D&AD or One Show every year? I'm guessing advertising egos are no more massive overseas than they are here, so what's the deal?
The Australian advertising industry can be so insular and petty sometimes. Btw, what's with Christy Peacocks eyebrows?
This is my life. What's your excuse?
From what I understand it wasn't a fight about advertising. It was started by a pissed idiot throwing an award in the air and hitting an innocent bistander.
Award statues were thrown. Heads were hit. Blood was spilt. Cops were involved.
That's all I've heard. And that the first award was thrown at a woman.
The blog's lost it.
from an earlier blog:
Apparently at the end of the show some guy picks up an award in the crowded foyer and throws it above his head behind him. It flies through the air and clocks a female creative on the head on the way down causing her to bleed. Obviously everyone is in shock but get this, the guy tries to walk away as though nothing happened! After the initial what the fuck moment she is in his face saying 'Did you just throw a fucking award at my head???' He still tries to just walk away! So luckily she'd won an award too and runs after him and smacks him three times in the head with her award until he too is bleeding from the head (more profusely than her by the way)... Then they're separated and taken to corners. Cops come, get statements. Their take on it is... He's had a few, he started it but she definitely gave more than she got... (he was taken to hospital for stitches) Neither pressed charges.
Apparently the person or persons involved may or may not be in the foreground or background of one of the photos shown here.
Fuck me, that's the most impact an MADC award has had on anyone in 20 years.
LOSERS
Actually, it sounds like they were actually winners.
LOSER
where the fuck's melbourne?
Congratulations Ant and Grant for Big Ad. Hope you get Melbourne up there at Cannes.
who's the chick in blue?
You could knit a beautiful jumper for the winter with the hair from Christy Peacock's eyebrows.
Who gave him a cd job at mojo?
Who brought the fucking wedding singer. (pic 3)
Who brought fat "Adam Sandler" (picture 3)
Bowl-A-Noel !
I know what you mean!! I rented The Wedding Singer on DVD about two weeks ago. It was good but I though it would be funnier. What made it worse was that my friend laughed all the way through the film. It put me off. But those little differences are what make us closer as friends. Well, that and movie nights ; )
2:40, your question is much the same as that which was asked by non-plussed prospective clients of Clemenger Melbourne when the chick in blue walked into client meetings - and especially new business meetings - and started presenting the work.
A bright young account executive?
It seemed a bit far-fetched that such a spunky young woman could indeed be the Creative Director.
Yes my ignorant friend, that's Emma Hill.
So in a stroke of genius Clemenger decided to add a bit of gravitas. A bit of serious male seniority.
So they hired Ron Mather.
New clients were expected to fight hand over fist for the privilege of having their business handled by Clemenger.
Existing clients were expected to double their spending.
Brilliant!
A year down the track, however... (mutters incomprehensibly into his bowl of gruel)...
THE CHICK IN BLUE IS EMMA HILL
The ginger fella in the last shot (far right) looks a little pissed off! Is there something in that?
I'm pretty sure 'the chick in blue' question was meant as a gag, unless of course the person that posted it is from Sydney...
8:56, the 'ginger fella' is none other than the delightful and and talented - not to mention modest - Cameron Hoelter who quite rightly is wishing the ground would open up and swallow him as Josh makes a right tit of himself for the benefit of the CB camera.
I'm from Sydney, and I know who Emma Hill is.
Who's the guy in the black suit?
That's Joe Connor of Renegade Films - no relative of John Connor who was sent from the future to save the world in The Terminator.
A creative great always not a great creative director maketh...mmmmmmm
Yoda
Give Josh a break, he is trying really hard to get a job...
as a performing monkey.....
It's all clear to me. Josh was a hot creative in Auckland at Colenso. He moves back to Melbourne and joins Clems. Mr Ron Eighties Mather joins Clems. Josh grows a goatee. Need I say more.
Yes, let's have the lot. It's such a rich vein.
Though I suspect that 'Comment Moderation' would ensure that precious little will see the light of day.
10:50 I wouldn't call it a goatee. A 'tuft' would be the correct term...
