AWARD MEMBERSHIP DRIVE IN OZ/NZ SHOWS STRONG SUPPORT FOR CHANGE

AWARD's recent successful membership drive in Australia and New Zealand has proven the creative organisation has strong support on both sides of the Tasman, as well as Asia, for the changes that have been planned from mid June onwards. CB has even handed over our infamous Legendary Lunch to AWARD - which is held twice yearly in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland - and as a result, over 200 new members came on board. (The catch was, the invite was for legendary AWARD members only).
The CB/AWARD Legendary Lunch was held in Auckland in late May, in Sydney last week and the Melbourne one is this Thursday.
Whilst entry levels to the AWARD Awards are very high, personal membership was declining, with most creatives perceiving it to be most beneficial to Sydney AWARD members. Says one Auckland CD: "The tie up with the Legendary Lunches at least gives us something more than just the AWARD annual, it's a great chance to catch up with our peers over a most enjoyable long lunch."
The CB/AWARD Legendary Lunches in Sydney and Melbourne are sponsored by Emerald City, LOOK; Photographers + Production and The Sweet Shop. (Tiger Sound were also a sponsor of the Sydney lunch). Paul Prince, MD of The Sweet Shop, is co chairman of AWARD. Here are some pics from the Sydney lunch last Thursday, held at Eat City.

If you check the AWARD website 12.45, you'll find it's at the printers and due out w/c 19/6.
You do have a phone I assume? Why don't you call AWARD to ask them?

Just checked the AWARD site (www.awardonline.com) because we heard Yaffa owned AdNews and Australian Creative pulled their Bronze Sponsorship of AWARD, in retaliatiion for AWARD splitting with Two de Force (half owned by Yaffa). As of this morning, they are no longer listed so it must be true.

Hey, how about a caption competition for the picture of Warren Brown and a very startled-looking Jack Vaughan?

I'll kick off with

WARREN: Of course we'd love to give you you a bit of freelance Jack, but your daily rate is a touch on the expensive side these days.

WARREN: Apparently most of the other people at this lunch had to pay to become AWARD members just to get invited.

JACK: Really, I don't remember what it's like to pay for anything.

WARREN: I've heard a bunch of silly jokers are going to write so-called "witty" captions about us.

JACK: You won't write better than me, you talentless hacks.
