YAHOO!7 'BIG SHOT' COMPETITION - WIN A TRIP TO CANNES

Yahoo!7 today officially launched its Big Shot in Cannes competition to the Australian creative community, offering the chance to win a trip to the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival by creating an online video public service announcement with a ‘green’ theme. All campaigns must be designed to raise awareness of worthy environmental issues and causes with potential topics including water conservation, climate change, animal protection, desertification, and renewable energy.
The competition presents an opportunity to all those eager to take advantage of the power of social media and user generated content to highlight an important environmental cause. Full details and rules of the contest are available at yahoo7.com.au/bigshot. This initiative has been launched across the United States, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Spain, United Kingdom and Australia and closes on May 7.
Simply submit an online advertisement video onto the exclusive website and drive friends and colleagues to the competition inviting them to give entries a ‘love it’ rating. The top ten submissions worldwide with the most ‘love it’ votes will be evaluated by a stellar panel of top creative judges. Three auspicious and talented individuals will be picked across the nine countries and will win a trip to the Cannes Advertising Festival (airfare and hotel included) with a special presentation at the Festival beginning June 17.
Markus Barnikel, Chief Sales Officer, Yahoo!7 commented: “Yahoo!7 is committed to encouraging and supporting creativity by looking for new ways to keep advertising fresh and engaging. User generated content has been driven by growing consumer demand to view and upload videos online. This Big Shot in Cannes competition will showcase how key messages and environmental issues can be effectively delivered. Yahoo!7’s ongoing goal is to offer advertising professionals an opportunity to gain a better understanding of how people and brands can connect through user generated content.”
Those entering the Big Shot in Cannes competition can submit up to ten entries. No purchase is necessary to enter or win and the competition is open to all those over 21 and legal residents in Australia. For full details go to yahoo7.com.au/bigshot
