'BIG AD' TAKES OUT BEST OF SHOW AT MOBIUS AWARDS

LOS ANGELES - As predicted by CB, George Patterson Y&R, Melbourne's brilliant Carlton Draught 'Big Ad' has taken out Best of Show in Television at the 2005 international Mobius Advertising Awards, held in Hollywood on Friday. The spot, which also won Best of Show at the London International Awards late last year, as well as Gold at the MC2/Campaign Brief Awards (for best in the Asia Pacific region) plus double Gold at Australasia's AWARD, was directed by Paul Middleditch from Plaza Films with special effects by Animal Logic.

See Tooheys ad above.

Compare.

Wonder how long it'll take for Tooheys to actually understand that they've just walked into the most amusing advertising trap I've seen in years.

They made a big crap ad!

Prediction: Big Ad does no better than silver at Cannes.

Gold, not GP. A judge on the pannel will make that job even harder. You really can't give yourself a wrap by abstaining, although see titanium judging 2005 and I could be wrong.

Droga's chairman of judges.

I like to think he'll push for Big Ad all the way to GP.

Remember John Hegarty said it was, by far, the best ad he'd seen all year and easily a GP at Cannes.
