AIR TODAY, GONG TOMORROW?

Misha McDonald and Dave O'Sullivan from DDB Sydney have created a poster for their own personal client, Air Guitar Australia, to run in pubs hosting the Air Guitar heats and events this month.

Fucking hell, I admire their balls for posting what is so obviously scam, but, hey, what the hell eh?

I think it's lovely.

Good on 'em.

(They'll inevitably be sued by EMI for use of a trademarked song title but again, good on the little scamps.)

well, if a scam that wins a lion will advance your career as much as one that is won for a normal ad. so well played guys.

Air today, gong tomorrow? A much better headline for this posting. Thanks for the thought starter, 8:39.

SCAM SCAM SCAM....and done before. Surely that calls for an air punch in the face for both of them. Not a good thing to post when it's the only thing you've done in many years...

Let me guess what's next. An 'air' guitar shop? An air groupie? Coke tried to do it in NZ, people opening 'air' drinks, playing 'air' videogames.

Talking about 'done before', did anyone at all check out Epica 18, page 104?

Why would you promote such an obvious scam? Kinda embarrassing for DDB.

Ah, but are any of you game enough to register for the Air Guitar heats?

Copied or not, I reckon the poster's way too clever for the kind of sad, greasy-haired Metallica loving freak who's prepared to get on stage and pretend to play a missing fucking musical instrument.

As Bill Hicks once said, Heavy Metal fans are listening to satanic lyrics and blowing their brains out.

What's the problem?

It's natural fucking selection.

If you're gonna run with the radio ad, make sure I get credited and not Misha. Love ya. ;-)

i loved their last album - "milk the kids"

what a hoot.

Was it baby goats they were refering to? A real musician would only drink milk from real children and not the cloven hoofed spawn of satan.

That's fantastic work well done team.
Sure to win an award this year. Just like all the fantastic work that won awards last year.

i didn't realise Misha did anything besides crappy Maccas ads....I guess his excitement at doing work on a different (albeit ficticious) client has clouded his judgement.
As the love-child to Ronald McDonald, surely Misha should stick to what he does best (or worst)

Great to see the quality of creative is on the rise, now that Gazza has left. Or has he?
