SINCLAIR DEPARTS AS HORNER STARTS WHYBIN CREATIVE SHAKEUP

Just a week after former DDB national ECD Garry Horner commenced work at Whybin TBWA Sydney, senior writer Ros Sinclair has departed the agency after a one year stint, along with art director Mark Dove, the former joint CD of George Patterson Sydney, who had been there on a freelance basis. CB believes Horner has retained the freelance services of senior creatives Steve Dodds and Grahame Smith, both of whom have been based at Whybins for the last few months. Horner says he is close to securing a very hot creative partner from London, which may be announced in early July.
Sinclair, who was employed by former Whybin TBWA Sydney CD, Mick Hunter, is believed to be staying in Sydney and has a few irons in the fire to pursue after a short break. Before Whybin, Sinclair was a senior writer at BMF Sydney after being lured from London, where she worked at a number of high profile shops, including Clemmow Hornby Inge, Fallon, Leagas Delaney (as CD), TBWA and Simons Palmer. She has won three Gold Lions and a Silver Lion, as well as a Yellow Pencil at D&AD.

They just don't get it, do they?

Another used import creative, hauled out from the home counties, with the sole purpose of making a CD feel 'at home' in his new position.

There's nothing new here that will challenge old Horner. Just tired techniques.

Sad. I would've thought Scott Whybin would have tried harder.

Like him or not isn't Horner an aussie now?
Apparently he's been here for over 10 years,so i doubt he needs to feel 'at home'

It's an in-coming Creative Director's prerogative to get rid of senior, highly awarded creative staff.

Just ask Malcolm Poynton.

Hmm, I wonder what sort of shirt Malcolm is wearing today?

Perhaps a pink one with thin white pinstripes?

Wasn't she Creative Director at BMF, not just a senior writer?

Geez. Someone's still burned up about stuff that happened three or four years ago. You need a hug? It's been a long time since Poynton began at Saatchi's.

Every new CD makes changes. Get over it.

Or get help.

I never understand what aussies have against other aussies who have worked overseas or foreigners who come to work in Australia. I mean isn't it cool to have new people and new ideas in your country? I suppose it comes down to the island mentality and the general xenophobic nature of the average australian. Maybe you could stick this garry horner chap in Woomera.

'A few irons in the fire to pursue after a short break.'

It's a great business for never using the term 'unemployed' isn't it?

Whybin is like some kind of horrible nightmare.
Horner has already made a totally disastrous call
on who should be directing the next playstation tvc

It's like wishing for the work to come out badly.
I think the offices in pyrmont are jinxed with some
kind of black magic shit.

'Hot' creative partner from London? Who ever it is, must be mentally ill to take up that role.

I guess he must of seen all that 'Hot' work GH pumped out at ddb.
