JASON MENDES LANDS AT 4 CREATIVE IN LONDON

Former Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney creative Jason Mendes has got a gig working at 4 Creative, one of London's hottest shops. In an email to CB, Mendes says London's going well: "Much better than I could have hoped. 4 Creative is only thre years old ... about 40 employees and making a lot of noise over here. Really hot agency in London at the moment winning heaps of awards. Creative Review magazine has just done a 3 page article on them in the November issue. Get a copy and check it out. The headline reads: "Is this the best ad agency in London?".
"I've been here three months and and I've already got a TV and print campaign out. And I'm currently in pre-production for another TV, print, poster, ambient, Internet campaign that will be very high profile over here.
"Also, my subscription to CB is great as it's keeping me in touch with what's happening on that side of the world."

Considering he intended to land at Saatchi's London, maybe that's not as great a move as he makes out. Good to see the big-noting isn't impaired by being 17,000kms away ...

saatchi's london? a big factory that churns out huge amounts of work, of which 95% is rubbish. that little 5% of shine can't compensate for rest of the poo.

so funny the way creatives in oz cling to the networks - as if it is a badge of honour to be a faceless number in a huge corporation.

get a job at earnst & young if you want that life.

or you can try out an idependent agency where the person who owns the place sits round the corner and not in chicago or fucking new york.

Good work man.
There'd be teams at Saatchi who'd kill to work at 4 Creative. I freelanced there and found them to be one of the few agencies in London that spend more time doing great work than talking about it.

Nice work Jas! I did about four months with 4creative earlier this year (your ol' Saatchis compadres, Matt Hazel and Jane Atkinson were also walking the hallways). 4 are blowing up (now that I've left) and are a really talented, inspiring and fun bunch of people to work with. Any Aussies planning to migrate to the UK should try to get there book in there.

And Jas, let's hook up for a few Red Stripes before xmas or in the New Year. My email's nathanlennon@hotmail.com

Nath (ex FNL)

PS. Vegas, how's NZ treating you? Hope you boys are well.

Speaking of Mendes, where'd Carlin end up?

S&S London?

That man is so under the radar.

Carlin is now a creative director with Europe-wide responsibilities for Toyota.

Probably flying too high for your "radar", 2:40.
