SILVERSCREEN SYDNEY INTO ADMINISTRATION

Despite assurances that it would not be affected by the collapse of Silversceen Auckland in early January, Silverscreen Sydney has itself gone into administration.
Tom Dawson at GHK is the administrator who said yesterday he will be emailing exact details of the situation. Hopefully he will do so soon.

They owe millions. To crew, to post houses. It's quite amazing that they tried to trade their way out of a hole. Pretending to all those working for you that things are all fine. The boss has just bought an even bigger boat and senior producers are on holidays. Nice work.

same name, same owner - it was always going to go the same way as NZ.

5.18. don't think senior producers are on holiday mate...they've all left to work elsewhere. the owner/management deceived all (including producers/directors) by pretending it was in better shape than was in reality. they should have shut up shop when NZ went down.

Maybe if the senior producers and executive staff hadn't had such exorbitent salaries, Silverscreen wouldn't have gone down the gurgler.

Silverscreen Sydney do NOT owe millions. They're all looking for work. Things were fine. No one was pretending. Get your facts right. Silverscreen Sydney generated a mountain of credible work over the years for many a technician. It's careless to think the Sydney team wanted this outcome. Crew and post houses that are out of pocket include close friends of Silverscren staff. Who are creditors them selves. Going into administration is having the foresight to prevent liquidation. The auction of all assets is next week with the aim of paying all creditors. Throw another stone mate.

At the creditors meeting they also told us that Silverscreen is owed a lot too. Going into administration means there is something to administer, unlike liquidation.Let's not forget the amount of work we got from Silverscreen, and were paid.

What an irresponsible bastard. Seems as if things would have been far worse sooner, if he hadn't had such loyal staff working for him. He couldn't even show his face at either of the meetings. Up to all of us to ensure he never works in Australia again.
