STEPHENS TO CREATIVE DIRECTOR GIG AT AJF PARTNERSHIP

Star copywriter Joshua Stephens has joined AJF Partnership, Melbourne as Associate Creative Director.
Stephens is most famous for co-creating VB’s iconic 'Talking Boony' at George Patterson Y&R, Melbourne and has also created award winning work for the AFL, Cricket Australia, Chupa Chups, Australian Defence Force and the 'Thai Thai' spot for Yellow Pages.
Stephens joins old Y&R workmates Andrew Foote and Adam Francis who set up AJF Partnership with ex CHE Director Andrew Fabbro less than two years ago. Staff numbers have climbed to 22 since then.
Other recent appointments at AJF include Mat Garbutt (formerly of Grey Melbourne) as Strategic Planner, Monique Martino as Head of Print Production, Art Director Jason Hynes, and Junior Art Director Michael Gagliardi, who last year was AWARD School’s top national student. Simon Thomas (formerly of GP/Y&R) will shortly join the agency as Head of TV Production.
Recent account wins include Blockbuster, The University of Melbourne and part of SA Lotteries, adding to an impressive list of blue-chip clients including National Foods, The Herald Sun, J Boag & Son and ANZ Financial Planning.
Stephens’ award list includes a Gold Lion at Cannes, a Yellow Pencil at D&AD and Silver at One Show. Says Stephens: “My goal is to boost the creative output of the agency and free up more time for Adam and Andrew to concentrate on our clients and on the business. We have a great team already, but obviously we want the agency and its output to grow into something pretty special.”
