EXACT MOMENT OF THE BIG BANG
A digital countdown billboard for Deadline Express Couriers, created by Colenso BBDO, Auckland, which went up a week ago, self destructed live on Sunday at 6.00 pm (NZ time) as promised. The idea was to stress that Deadline Express Couriers never misses a deadline.
All praise to those who've done it - because its good stuff, but if i told my delivery/courier client we were recommending he put up one poster 15 km's from Dubbo and we'll get half the country to watch us blowing it up he'd sack us faster than look at us. You Kiwis don't know how lucky you are. No wonder O'Sullivan and McPherson and co caught the first available flight back.
This is 8:42am, if we're going to talk about footy on an ad blog let's discuss that astonishing rip-off by Patts of that superb Publicis Mojo ad for NIKE prior to the 2003 world cup.
It was a weak, lame copycat. And not many in the ad industry called them on it.

50 per cent bullshit. 50 per cent brilliance. In the words of that classic Araldite ad, how did they pull it off?
Well done 4:22pm, there's a famous song we have in New Zealand....goes
"WE DON'T KNOW HOW LUCKY WE AAAARRRE"
Retarded but true.
