'INNER FAT CHILD' STARS IN SUMO SALAD SPOT VIA BWM SYDNEY

BWM Sydney has created a humourous send-up of the McDonald's 'Inner Child' spot for their client SumoSalad.
When it comes to advertising, SumoSalad like to take a guerrilla approach. For example, they recently hijacked the launch of Krispy Kreme’s store opening with SumoSalad protestors waving placards with slogans saying “Don’t get fatter, give up the batter”. Building on that campaign BWM developed a TVC positioning SumoSalad as the healthy alternative to fast food, specifically McDonalds.

Client: Sumo Salad
Agency: BWM, Sydney
Writer: Sean Lavery
Art Director: Kevin MacNamara
Director: Chris Riggert
Producer: Kim Kirby
Production Company: @radical.media
DoP: Damien Wyvill
Editor: Danny Tait @ The Tait Gallery
Post Production: The LaB

Very funny. Always dangerous referencing other ads, but in this case highly relevant. Well done.

Saw this in the cinema not so long ago and the audience all groaned thinking it was the Maccas spot again..laughter broke out when everyone realised..

incredibly clever...and props for taking the piss out of the toy piano cutesy music style that has become a cliche on a lot of TVC's recently

Ok. So we are going to suck up to these guys for doing a spoof. I bet if Fast Forward was still around they would do it better. So we have Lamb Perfume, Ikea Stand in Dad (a la Simpsons) and now this. Let's add it to Big Ad, Flash Beer Cougar, and every other gener knock off and realise that we are not original.Let's feel very sad. And let's stope holding this upo as good advertising when they are merely piss takes and skits. Insert any logo at the end. Stop awarding this crap wit gongs and praise.

Yes it's good. BUT it would have been a lot funnier if McDonald's didn't get in first with inner Mexican. That fat little Mariachi was very amusing and unexpected from that client.

Half-decent budget, my arse!!! A lot of favous were pulled to produce this one. I only hope the client knows this so he doesn't expect the same thing next time.

I just laughed out loud at that. Doesn't happen often. Great to see someone exploiting the obvious irony in the Maccas ads. Relevant, funny, and memorable.
